Rise above the clouds

Tue, 04/02/2019 - 12:04 -- Karen Minty

It’s March 24th. As I’m writing this, I’m looking at the outside thermometer through the window and it’s currently +15° out. A sure sing spring is coming... right? I want to believe the weather and I want to believe the calendar, but alas, both have failed me before.

Remember in early January? The temperature soared to +10° only to be followed a few days later with -17°. In February, we had almost a full week of unusually mild weather in the double digits, only to be hit again with the cold and snow.

I don’t want to drive

Fri, 01/04/2019 - 13:45 -- Karen Minty

Procrastination Works

Tue, 11/06/2018 - 10:46 -- Karen Minty

The fact that I procrastinate and still get the job done on time is the reason I still procrastinate.

Procrastination is part of my process. While you call it lazy, I call it contemplative. While you call it a lack of time management skills, I call it a creative process.

The socially acceptable addiction

Fri, 09/28/2018 - 15:58 -- Karen Minty

I have an addiction. Yes, I’m an addict, or at least trying to be a ‘recovering addict’ without too much success. Society won’t help me. There are no detox centres for my addiction nor clinics handing out substitute drugs for it. I’m on my own.

Society won’t help me because it’s a socially acceptable addiction. There is no funding for programs because a very large portion of the economy thrives on me being addicted. They want us all to be addicted, that’s how they make money.

I’m addicted to sugar.
