We make some heavy demands on our bodies throughout our lives. In turn, we have to contend with injuries, fatigue, and illnesses – especially as we age and time takes its toll. For help with maintaining health and understanding wellness, visit Treat Yourself Wellness Centre in the Mitton Village – their friendly staff is ready to assist you.
Alisha Buchanan, the centre’s owner and biofeedback specialist, has taken the reins of a business founded in her grandmother’s house in Petrolia in 1995. Since then, through a move to Sarnia and relocation to the Mitton Village in 2016, Treat Yourself Wellness Centre has expanded their selection of natural remedies and treatment options.
“We pride ourselves on keeping up with new research and products to support your needs,” says Buchanan, now a third-generation owner and operator of the business. The centre’s retail area includes fine selections of vitamins, minerals, homeopathic remedies, and supplements.
There are also a number of onsite therapy services to help you maintain and improve your body’s ability to get healthy and stay healthy. These processes may be new or unknown to you, but the staff is more than happy to explain the benefits to you if you have any questions.
“Low-level light therapy basically speeds up the recovery time from any injury,” Buchanan says. Quantum biofeedback therapy is another popular service, one that Alisha specializes in. It provides “greater awareness of many physiological functions within your own body,” she explains, “to help you to understand the ‘why’ and the ‘what to do’ about [pain].”
Treat Yourself Wellness Centre has been in its Mitton St. location since 2016, and feedback on the renovated space has been positive. Since personal health is one of those things that never goes out of style, the centre seems poised for continued success in its new neighbourhood.
In the past 24 years, Treat Yourself Wellness Centre has developed strong relationships with clients who keep coming back for the attention and service they need. Clients of all ages have benefited from the centre’s dynamic approach to understanding wellness, and Alisha is optimistic about what her business can do for anyone who might be curious.
“Each day, we have the opportunity to have a positive impact in the lives of our clients,” she says, “and that is the greatest reward of this job.”
