Whether you’re trying to put your own special touches on your home or office, or to ensure that a life occasion, from a wedding to a memorial event, is handled with care and elegance, Sue Downey and her shop, Flowers Forever, are ready to help you.
With over 35 years of design experience, Sue is celebrating three years in business at her current location, 132 Russell Street South (at Wellington). And in that short period of time, Flowers Forever has become a ‘go-to’ place for flowers and giftware. Customers can find top of the line fresh flowers and be confident of their choices knowing Sue offers a five-day guarantee that the flowers will retain their beauty. From fresh cut flowers to stunning floral arrangements, quality is guaranteed. But Flowers Forever is so much more than just a flower shop; it’s a shop filled with ideas and inspirations that can express your individual taste and personality with an eye on the latest trends. “We have unique giftware and inspirational pieces…jewelry and home décor,” said Sue. “I can help people interpret and develop their own personals style.”
Frequent trips to Toronto trade shows help to keep the shop current. “I go to Toronto several times each year,” said Sue.
Everywhere you look, there is something innovative or whimsical to capture the imagination. Tiny gnomes peek out from quaint terrarium bowls, natural wood structures remind us of woodland strolls, and inspirational pieces provide touching ways to remember loved ones and those we care about. Elegant adornments for sunlit windows and pieces that add an elegant touch to any room are also on at Flowers Forever.
The Christmas season is creating a stir at Flowers Forever as new shipments arrive and the shop takes on a festive feeling. Customers will find the holidays manifested wall to wall. “We’ll have fresh greenery and seasonal floral arrangements in many styles and colours,” said Sue, adding there will be some exciting new decorating ideas in evidence inside the show and outside as well. “When customers walk in it’s like, ‘Wow, I didn’t know you had all this.’ A lot of new customers say they are drawn in by the attractive store front and are even more impressed when they walk in the door.”
One example of the new technology in play this Christmas is the Danson décor indoor/outdoor battery-operated micro dot lights. These easy-to-use lights have timers to make them trouble free; just set them and forget them.
No matter what size space you have to decorate, Sue and her staff can recommend ways to bring that space alive with holiday cheer.
“I love making people happy with my designs,” said Sue.
Flowers Forever is a full-service florist with weddings a specialty.
