ARTZscape, a fundraising event for Pathways held at Centennial Park is partnering with the Tall Ships Festival 2019 and Bluewater Borderfest Music Festival for an amazing family oriented weekend, August 8-11. Sandi Grimshaw, Event Chair and Tracy Drysdale Event Co-Chair have been busily planning since last November when Sandi began to solicit vendors. “Sandi`s commitment to Pathways and to this event is strictly voluntary and comes from her soul”, says Tracy. Although recently retired from her Fund Development and Community Engagement Officer position at Pathways, Tracy believed in the importance of remaining to support Sandi through this event. Over the past 6 years, $85 000 has been raised in the support of programs and services at Pathways and this year the goal is to make the $100, 000 mark.
A small army of dedicated volunteers will set up the booths beginning Friday following the design created by Bob Grimshaw who also heads the painting crew for booth assignments.
Sandi reports, “We have fabulous, fine quality art coming to ARTZscape.” 10 visual arts categories are represented: Painting, Photography, Metal Artwork, Wearable Art, Pottery, Jewellery, Mixed Media Textiles, Woodworking, Home Décor and a Gourmet Food section.
“This year there is an influx of new artists, in part because of ARTZscape`s collaboration with the Tall Ships and Bluewater Borderfest Music Festivals.”
A licensed dining area with musical entertainment will be set up and funding from a Creative Country Grant supports Chalk Artists, Indigenous Flair, and a Pirate Demonstration.
On Thursday, August 8, 6pm-10pm, a Kick Off celebration, A Pirate`s Bounty will be held at the Sarnia Yacht Club. Featured will be a prelude of the awesome art that will be showcased at ARTZscape by the Bay. A live art auction featuring beautiful donations from artist exhibitors, Pirates’ Fare hors`oevres, Music and a Pirate Invasion will all be part of the festivities. Advanced ticket sales only at $50 per person are available at email@example.com
Without the support of sponsors, this event could not happen. Major Sponsor for ARTZscape is Terrapure Industries. Activears and Christine Feige, Carpenter`s Union Local 1256, Shadforth Wealth Management, Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia Tourism and partnership with Tall Ships Festival and Bluewater Borderfest are also appreciated for their support. Sandi, Tracy, and all ARTZscape volunteers welcome and encourage everyone to take part in all three events during this epic, unforgettable weekend.
